What is the

Mad Composer Lab?

The Mad Composer Lab

was conceived from the spirit of innovation which inspired great

American Creatives such as

Julius Eastman, Lou Harrison, Pauline Oliveros, James Booker, and more.

Research in ecoacoustics (or sound ecology), exploring new composition techniques, communing with the muses, and discovering new ways of enhancing the audience’s musical experience is all part of the madness, the passion. Music from the lab spans an array of genres and traditions that connected our ancestors to the land and the cosmos. The results are then shared in every consumable format for the people. The purpose is to continue nurturing culture, inspire all to be free in thought, healed, blessed, and united in resolve.

Kennedy (b. Brandon Kennedy Verrett, 1980), is the founder and curator of the Mad Composer Lab. Subjects and philosophies often expressed in his compositions include

Nature, Science, Sex, Spirituality, Lore and Politics.

DONATE

The mad composer lab is funded in many ways. Kennedy offers piano, didjeridu and composition lessons. In addition commissions for patrons, licensing, film scores, private donors and supporters all contribute to the madness.

The easiest way to donate is sharing your time. Time to listen and also share with someone else who might be down. Non profit doesn’t really suit the concept, but rest assured every contribution goes towards funding the madness. If you are convicted by the spirit of conservation, equality, artistic expression, freedom of expression, fostering culture through art, please consider making a donation to the Mad Composer Lab.
